A Friday-night promo can't delay 'your driver is arriving': three lanes and the inbox

transcript

Friday night. Marketing sends a promotion to every customer. Meanwhile, your driver is arriving. Where's that message? Stuck in the same queue, behind the promotion.

The fix: three lanes, not one queue. Critical: sign-in OTPs, and driver offers. Never shed. Transactional: confirmed, assigned, arriving, delivered. Bulk: promotions. Paced, never ahead of an order update. Each lane gets its own topic, workers and provider quota.

Driver arriving is transactional. First, write it to the inbox. Then send a hint down any live connection. Push only if no device acknowledges in a few seconds.

Tracking screen open? It's acknowledged live. No push at all. App closed? Pushed at once. It replaces driver assigned. But here's the catch. Phone in a lift, socket dead. No acknowledgement, so it's pushed. Reconnect shows it once.

Give urgent messages their own lane, all the way out. Write it down first. Push only if nobody heard.
